How to make a Peanut Butter Easter Eggs.

Give me five! Good job for finding the easter eggs.      

What are easter eggs? According to Wikipedia, easter eggs are special eggs that are often given to celebrate Easter or springtime. The egg is widely used as a symbol of the start of new life, just as new life emerges from an egg when the chick hatches out.

In the easter egg tradition, children will have to hunt for decorated eggs which can be found both indoors or outdoors. After the searching game, prizes may be given according to the highest number of easter eggs found or depending on the size of the egg. For easter eggs that were artificially made, the prizes can be found inside the easter eggs.

Do you know that there are actually easter eggs especially made for the visually impared? It is called a Beeping easter eggs. It is especially designed for visually impaired children for them to experience the thrill of hunting for Easter eggs.Some beeping Easter eggs make a single, high-pitched sound, while other types of beeping Easter eggs play a melody.

Today I'll be sharing a super easy recipe you can do even with the kids. I got this from one of my online subscriptions for kiddie friendly recipes.  This one is from allrecipes.com.

Peanut Butter Easter Eggs.

Ingredients

1 (16 ounce) package confectioners' sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon milk
8 (1 ounce) squares semi-sweet chocolate
1 tablespoon shortening

Directions

In a mixing bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, peanut butter, butter and milk (if needed for moisture) until blended. Shape mixture into two 1/2 pound eggs or make a bunch of smaller eggs. Freeze eggs for 1 hour.
While the eggs are freezing, cut semi-sweet chocolate into small pieces and place in top of double boiler with shortening. Melt over medium heat, stirring frequently until smooth. Stick a long-tined fork in top of each peanut butter egg, dip it in melted chocolate to cover then drain on waxed paper. When the eggs are cooled and set, decorate the eggs to suit your fancy.

One suggestion if you are having difficulty shaping the eggs, you can use the plastic fillable easter eggs. Just open them up, press the mix inside and place them on a cookie sheet in the freezer for a few minutes. Turn them over, tap on the cookie sheet so they can fall right out shaped like half an egg.

Making Peanut Butter Easter Eggs is a very nice bonding activity for parents and kids of all ages.
